KRISTOPHER BAIER'S STORY
Kristopher was 27 months old the first time he participated in The Soaring Eagle Ministries' "Horses as Healers Program". Sweet Pea was his equine angel. Kristopher has developmental delays because of Cerebral Palsy and was a failure to thrive baby when he was placed with me as a foster child. It was a blessing when I adopted him and his big sister in January.
Kristopher has a lot of different therapy's; OT, PT and Speech. But, I feel he loves the horses the best and it is what has made such a huge improvement. I saw a change in him from the start. He carried himself differently and his speech has improved so much. Before coming to "Horses as Healers", Kristopher was basically non-verbal. But even after just his first lesson, he started talking. He walked around the house saying "I did it" many times a day. Until then, he was only using a few words and never more than two words together.
The first time he was riding, he would need to KISS and KICK which he was unable to make his lips do. But, after the first week he did it. He still has a hard time using his right side, but, that is improving a little each week. That all changed when he started taking lessons with Ms. Beth. I think if anyone has a chance to participate in the "Horses as Healers Program", they should. It has so much improved my son in every aspect of his life.
